Inspired by his mother, Von Deon created “THE WORLDLY WOMEN SERIES” (2021) as a tribute to women all over the world.

His mother, a probate attorney of 30 years, would pray with him and his brothers daily before school. At night she would read them a bedtime book called Black Is Beautiful. She told him that he could do whatever he wanted if he put his mind to it.

The women in these paintings are not only inspiring to the artist — each one of them possesses some quality that Von Deon admires.
